Longines expands its Heritage Collection with two new models that combine technical expertise and vintage elegance. Inspired by ‘Tuxedo’ models found in the companies archives and the aesthetics of the late 1940s, the new Heritage Classic 38mm Automatic (above) and 40mm Automatic (below) have black and white dials reminiscent of the quintessential evening suit.
The Longines Heritage Classic 38mm Automatic runs on the caliber L893 movement that produces a solid 64 hour power reserve. Inside the stainless steel case is a black and white dial – nicknamed ‘tuxedo’ by collectors – with luminescent hour and minute makers, silver hands with luminescent strips, and a small seconds hand sub-dial at six o’clock. Available now (L23304930 $2,000) from longines.com.
The second ‘tuxedo’ watch on offer includes a tachymeter scale printed in blue around the edge of the dial. The Longines Heritage Classic 40mm Automatic Chronograph also includes a small seconds sub-dial at 3 o’clock and a 60 seconds hand with 30 minutes counter at 9 o’clock. The stainless steel case is water resistant to 100 feet and topped by a sapphire crystal with several layers of anti-reflective coating. Available now (L28304930 $3,000) from longines.com.
