Nigel Cabourn’s latest Timex collaboration is a tribute to the bravery of RAF flight crews that crash-landed in the frigid North Atlantic during WWII. The “survival yellow” dial and Ventile strap on the new 36mm Timex X Nigel Cabourn Survival Watch recalls the high-visibility life vests and Ventile flight suits worn by Royal Air Force pilots and crewmen – the vests aided in spotting and rescuing the crewmen in rough seas, and the Ventile immersion suits helped the men stay relatively warm and dry in the dangerously cold water. Cabourn based the design on a watch he found in the Timex archives, the 36mm stainless steel MK1 field watch. He also designed a vintage-style cotton drill pouch to store the watch. The pouch matches the dial and includes an additional slip-through strap in black leather.
