In the spring of 2019 Glashütte Original introduced the SeaQ diver’s watch, the first model in the new Spezialist Collection. The name and inspiration for the collection was the Spezimatic Type RP TS 200 divers watch from 1969, the first diver made in Glashütte, Saxony – the birthplace of the German watchmaking industry. Timepieces from Glashütte are prized by collectors around the world for their precision mechanics, elaborate finishes and timeless design. All three elements inspired the design of the SeaQ Panorama Date, the latest addition to Glashütte’s Spezialist Collection. The 43.20 mm diver comes in red gold with a black dial or in a stainless steel case with gold accents and a grey dial. Both versions run on Glashütte’s in-house 36-16 automatic movement, exquisitely finished with beveled edges, polished steel parts, blued screws, Glashütte’s three-quarter plate with a stripe finish, and a skeletonized rotor with 21 ct gold oscillation weight – all visible through the transparent case-back.
The Glashütte Original SeaQ Panorama Date series is available now ($14,800 – $24,900). For availability and retail locations go to glashuette-original.com.
