Supreme partnered with Barbour on four-piece Spring/Summer 2020 capsule collection. Made exclusively for Supreme and available online from May 7th (May 9th in Japan), the promotional campaign features professional skateboarder, Thames designer and frequent model Blondey McCoy.
A fifth generation family-owned lifestyle brand, Barbour started in 1894 in South Shields in the North East of England when founder John Barbour began supplying oilskins and other garments to the growing community of sailors, fishermen and dockers in the busy port town. In the 1980s, firm released three wax cotton jackets – the Bedale, the Beaufort and the Border – that established Barbour’s global reputation for all-weather outerwear. The Bedale was originally designed as an equestrian jacket, the shorter length and rear vents made the jacket easy to wear in the saddle.
The centerpiece of the Supreme x Barbour SS2020 capsule is a Lightweight Waxed Cotton Field Jacket inspired by the Bedale. The collection also includes a Waxed Cotton Waist Bag, Waxed Cotton Crusher, Waxed Cotton Camp Cap and Baseball Cap.
