In 1876 George Henry Bass established a shoe company in Wilton, Maine with a simple mission, “to make the best possible shoe for the purpose for which it was intended.” In 1936, G.H. Bass & Co. put a stylish spin on a Norwegian farm shoe designed for ‘loafing in the field,’ and dubbed them Weejuns – the world’s very first penny loafer.
The new Fred Perry x G.H. Bass & Co. collaboration re-imagines this iconic American style along with the kiltie tassel loafer. Inspired by a 1990s Weejuns design, Fred Perry’s Larson Weejun is available in polished Oxblood and Navy leather with a thick lugged sole. The Layton Kiltie Tassel Loafer is available in Black and Bottle Green polished leather with the same thick, lugged sole made from lightweight EVA.
