The Spring/Summer 2020 Fred Perry x BEAMS collaboration focuses on fabric and form. Referencing ’90s sportswear, the Japanese retailer turned the British brand’s signature twin tipped polo shirt into an oversized piece with dropped shoulders and four laurel wreaths embroidered on the left side of the chest in colors inspired by tennis courts – a callback to the brands roots. The quadruple logo also appears on a colorful, oversized striped cotton jersey T-shirt and a boxy fit camp collar shirt. Of course, it wouldn’t be a retro ’90s collection without a Britpop era polyester tricot track suit with the BEAMS quad logo embroidered across the back of the jacket and down the side of the pants.
The Fred Perry X BEAMS capsule launches Thursday March 12th at select stores and fredperry.com.
