Designer twins Ariel and Shimon Ovadia transformed two of UGG brand’s most popular styles – the Classic Mini boot and Tasman slipper – for a limited edition Spring/Summer 2020 capsule. The collections lookbook, modeled by author and restaurateur Eddie Huang, shows that the brothers kept the best bits – weatherproof uppers, durable outsoles and plush shearling lining – while adding a little funk, like leopard print on the shearling lining, tie-dye canvas and customized, co-branded shoe soles.
“Our design approach for this collaboration mirrors our design process for Ovadia,” said Messrs. Ovadia in a press release. “We took the UGG brand’s most iconic silhouettes and recreated them with a focus on what matters most to us – premium materials, functionality and high attention to details. We worked with the team at UGG to create a shearling with a distressed effect and the leopard print which is a staple for us at Ovadia. We’re always designing to create a finished product that feels new and timeless.”
The UGG x Ovadia capsule ($250 to $350) will be available February 10 from ovadiany.com and ugg.com.
