Paul Smith is taking the Derby back to its roots. A more casual look than the Oxford, the Derby originated in the 1850s as a sporting and hunting boot. By the turn of the 20th century the shoe was worn ‘in town’ with an early version of the modern suit.
The new Mac Derby mixes dress shoe styling with sportswear inspired design details. Crafted in Italy from high-shine leather, these four-eyelet plain toe Derby’s have a neoprene padded tongue, translucent lace supports and a rugged rubber soles – reminiscent of the shoes relaxed countryside heritage.
The Paul Smith Mac Derby ($5959.00) is available now in Black and Burgundy from paulsmith.com.
