Inspired by thoughts of Che Guevara trekking through a South American jungle in natty fatigues, Francesco Risso’s latest Marni collection serves up tropical wool suits, cotton satin military jackets, lug sole boots, and a bomber style shirt in printed cotton poplin, plus a handful of covetable knitwear pieces, including a shaggy, brushed mohair sweater and knitted polo in 12-gauge virgin wool. His canniest move may have been to show a version of the quirky prints Consuelo Castiglioni made a signature of the brand, such as the abstract Camo Cells and Eyed Leaves prints. The effect is less standard-issue and more smart urban uniform.
