Before the rise and fall of Colette, before Dover Street Market, The Corner or Opening Ceremony, there was A.P.C. Magasin Général. Established in the 1990s, Magasin Général was Jean Touitou’s version of a concept store before concept stores existed (with the notable exception of 10 Corso Como). Today, A.P.C. is re-opening Magasin Général corners in selected shops – including 131 Mercer Street NYC and 8420 Melrose Place L.A. – from the 18th of November until the 27th of December 2019. Shoppers will find a selection of Jean Touitou’s favorite books, toys, household objects, colorful Atoma notebooks and other items.
