Doug Goodfeather believes in the power of storytelling as a way to change hearts and minds. Raised by his grandparents on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation, he joined the military at 30 to fulfill his rite of passage as a warrior. After serving two tours of duty in Iraq, Doug overcame addiction and dedicated his life to helping others. Today, Doug uses the story of his journey – as a recovering alcoholic, actor, Grammy Award winner, and cultural ambassador – to reach out to people in need. He founded Lakota Way Healing Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of addiction and homelessness and helping those suffering from PTSD to re-balance themselves through indigenous Lakota spirituality.
