Puma celebrates Manchester City Football Club’s 125th anniversary with a limited edition capsule collection. Inspired by the Club’s history and roots in the local community, the anniversary jersey at the center of the collection including specific design elements voted for by fans. Worn by the men’s first team in their 2019 Community Shield win at Wembley, the Manchester City 125th anniversary jersey is free of sponsorship logos and decals. The light blue jersey, trimmed in white, is strongly influenced by the club’s kit from the early 1970s and enhanced with anniversary elements including gold embroidery denoting the Club’s 125th year and the Club’s founding document replicated on the inside neckline.
Swathed in light grey suede with a smooth black logo, the retro-inspired Puma Roma Manchester City is the highlight of the off-pitch looks. Originally designed in the 1960s as a lightweight training shoe, complete with a padded tongue and orthopedic arch supports, this new Roma is built for the street. The update features Man City colors on the stacked sole, toe-box and heel, with extra lace loops in light blue and a Club badge on the tongue.
The capsule also includes a Puma T7 track jacket, fan tee, snap-back cap, ball and scarf. Products are embellished with 125th commemorative text inspired by the Club’s original Certificate of Incorporation, registered on 16 April 1894.
