Chris Olberding of Gitman Vintage is taking his tennis obsession to new heights with the GV x New Balance collaboration. Inspired by the upcoming US Open, the capsule serves up two custom tennis themed prints along with athletic and casual apparel and sneakers.
The Grand Slam Tattersal print – a homage to the most important tournaments of the season – is a classic check featuring the court colors of the Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon and US Open. The pattern appears on tech fabric shorts and a reversible bomber-style jacket with a solid blue side with the GV x NB logo on the sleeve.
The NYC Courts print features a bird’s eye view of city’s favorite public courts including Canal Street, Park Slope and Central Park. The print decorates a pair of microfiber athletic shorts with knit mesh panels across the back and on the sides. The colorful court print is also used on a pair of tailored shorts, a short sleeve button down shirt and an open collar camp shirt – all cut from 100% cotton and sewn in Gitman’s Pennsylvania factory.
