Jeff Staple finds “beauty in grit. While some take extreme care of their possessions, I like to wear them in and almost abuse them! Sneakers? Worn. Luggage? Dented. Watches? Scratched. And Bikes? Bikes should be covered in grit.” This is the philosophy behind his limited edition Raleigh Redux 2 Staple Edition City Bike – a mountain bike made for the city.
The Redux 2’s lightweight aluminum frame and fork, in Staple’s signature colorways, features an artfully distressed ‘chipped’ paint job. The frame is durable enough to handle potholes, curbs and grates but light enough to carry up to a 5th floor walk-up. The big, all-terrain tires will roll over almost anything in their path. On the head tube, Raleigh’s classic heron head badge is tweaked to include the Staple pigeon. This specially designed collaboration logo is emblazoned on two Staple x Raleigh T-shirts and a vintage inspired cycling cap that rounds out the capsule.
