Stella McCartney reimagines Wimbledon’s all white dress code with camo prints and distinctive color accents created using recycled polyester fibers and Dope Dye Technology to reduce water waste. Dominic Thiem, Alexander Zverev and Stefanos Tsitsipas will start their 2019 Wimbledon campaign in her new adidas by Stella McCartney Tennis Collection, McCartney’s first adidas collaboration to include menswear for a Grand Slam. The lightweight construction enables a dynamic range of motion for overhead slams and powerful returns. Laser-cut perforations form a subtle camo pattern that helps keep players cool as the match heats up.
Designed to create change, the men’s line uses Parley Ocean Plastic — material created from up-cycled plastic waste intercepted on beaches and in coastal communities — helping to combat marine plastic pollution. The pieces are dyed at the initial stage of production using a more sustainable coloring process (dope dye). When the fiber is formed it is already the desired color and doesn’t require further processing, reduces waste water by at least 10 liters per garment.
