AMI’s Autumn 2019 Pre-Collection riffs on the codes – in terms of shape and detail – Alexandre Mattiussi has been establishing since launching his own label in 2011, a relaxed yet elegant approach to mens staples. The seasons silhouette is little wider and slightly boxy, allowing for Mattiussi’s standard ease. New versions of old favorites return; like the Ami de coeur oversize sweater in bi-color mouliné knit, a generous Mac coat in a large-format Prince of Wales check, 80s inspired stone washed jeans, the classic chino re-imagined as oversized carrot trousers in cotton gabardine and satin, lots of satin. This new pre-collection reaffirms Ami’s métier: decidedly modern, uncomplicated clothes.
