First released in 1979, the original diver-inspired Q Timex featured a ‘Q’ below the 12 o’clock position to signify the end of the mechanical movement and the start of the quartz era. “The Quartz movement revolution was a transformative time in the watch industry, particularly for Timex because we provided a new quartz movement technology at an affordable price. Our dedication to affordability and quality craftsmanship still holds true today” said Silvio Leonardi, Senior Vice President at Timex Group. The new limited edition Q Timex maintains the retro features of the original including a true-to-the-era stainless steel woven bracelet, functional battery hatch, rotating top ring, luminescent hands and hour markers, and the ‘Q’ at 12 o’clock. Ticking inside the 38 mm stainless steel case is a modern quartz movement.
The Q Timex reissue is available now for $179 on timex.com.
