Jaguar Classic recently brought back the iconic Le Mans-winning D-Type race car, more than sixty years after the last model was built. The D-Type won the Le Mans 24 Hours race three times between 1955 and 1957 powered by the six-cylinder XK engine. The new cars are meticulously hand-built to the original specifications at Jaguar Land Rover Classic Works in Warwickshire.
Based on the success of their previous collaborations and inspired by the D-Type re-launch, Bremont designed the limited edition Jaguar D-Type Chronograph with a see through sapphire case back that displays the mechanical BE-50AE movement and the intricate Jaguar steering wheel inspired rotor. The 43mm satin finished three-piece case holds a blue dial with two brushed nickel sub-dials at 3 and 9 and a Tachymeter dial ring. As a finishing touch, the crown is engraved with the original Dunlop tire tread pattern with the Jaguar Heritage logo enameled on the end.
The Jaguar D-Type Chronograph (£5,495.00) will be available from bremont.com on Sunday 12th May.
