Converse’s 2019 Pride collection celebrates the cultural impact of the 1969 Stonewall Riots, a watershed moment for LGBTQ+ rights in New York City and around the world. Fifty years later, the courage of the Stonewall rioters still motivates those fighting for progress and positive change. To help foster change, Converse will make contributions to longstanding local and global LGBTQ+ partners, including It Gets Better Project, OUT MetroWest and Fenway Health.
Inspired by the late 1960s and early 70s style of the Stonewall era, Converse decorated the Chuck Taylor, Chuck 70 and accompanying apparel capsule in a lighting bolt design, lots of glitter, rainbow flag colors and – for the first time – the colors of the trans flag. All the shoes have “1969–2019” printed on the back of the tongue as a nod to Pride’s 50th anniversary and lace tips in the colors of the Pride or Trans flag.
The 2019 Converse Pride collection is available now at select retailers and at converse.com.
