Missoni’s new Adidas Running collaboration celebrates Ottavio Missoni, Olympic athlete and co-founder of Missoni. Before starting the family knitwear business with his wife Rosita, Missoni joined the Italian National Track Team in 1937, winning four individual national championships and competing for Italy in the 1948 Summer Olympics in London – where the team wore tracksuits designed by Missoni. Ottavio’s athletic experience informed his early designs and, combined with Rosita’s knowledge of knitwear, revolutionized Italian sportswear. Inspired by this history of athleticism and innovative knitwear, Adidas used their Primeknit technology to create a capsule collection of performance-driven apparel and Ultraboost running shoes in Missoni’s classic zig-zag pattern.
