Paul Smith by Rottingdean Bazaar

James Theseus Buck and Luke Brooks of Rottingdean Bazaar offer a surrealist take on selection colorful photo print pieces from Paul Smith’s SS19 collection. Since their first presentation at AW16 London Fashion Week Men’s, the creative duo have established themselves as one of the most original and exciting voices in London fashion. Inspired by their home base in the coastal village of Rottingdean, England, the pair specialize in art direction and styling.

When Sir Paul invited Rottingdean Bazaar to shoot these key pieces from this seasons collection, James and Luke immediately thought of Globalls miniature golf course on Brighton Marina, a short car ride from Rottingdean. The unique double-exposure print pieces – reproduced on apparel, accessories and outerwear – were inspired by a box of old photographs the British designer discovered in his office. Locked away in a drawer, time altered the vintage photographs and glass transparencies: beach scenes had faded to yellow and seascapes were washed to pink. This accidental transformation inspired a playful series of double-exposure designs.
