Melbourne welcomes the world’s top tennis players for the year’s first tennis major, during the height of the Australian summer. Temperatures during the Australian Open can reach into the 100°s (+/- 37° Celsius). The environmental conditions pose challenges for designers working to outfit players for the two-week tournament. Uniqlo’s top two tennis professionals, ATP no.3 Roger Federer and ATP no.9 Kei Nishikori, will wear custom looks created by the UNIQLO U team under the supervision of Christophe Lemaire. The looks were developed with input form both players using DRY-EX material, which dries sweat unbelievably quickly allowing two-time defending champion Roger Federer to concentrate on winning his 100th career title.
