Carmelo Anthony and his close friend Marcus Wainwright teamed up with Jordan Brand for a new limited edition sneaker and apparel capsule collection. Since meeting in New York City nearly a decade ago the NBA-All Star small forward and Rag & Bone designer have become fast friends, bonding over their love for fashion. For their first official design partnership the two sneakerheads decided to revamp the underrated Air Jordan XX. “I think that it was a bit ahead of its time, but the shoe was always cool,” says Anthony. “This is a shoe I liked when I saw it, but it didn’t get its fair moment. I wanted to bring it back, rework it and re-introduce it to the market.” Wainwright agreed and wanted to design a shoe that reflected their style while taking “something that was essentially iconic, but make it current, maintain the originality of it.”
The Jordan Brand x Carmelo Anthony x Rag & Bone sneaker & apparel capsule comes out in late September and is only available at Rag & Bone Soho in NYC, the Melrose store in LA and rag-bone.com.
