Sometimes, you just don’t want to continually refer to a phone in the midst of a workout. Dedicated Nike Training Club users have access to more than 180 free workouts — from strength and endurance to mobility and yoga, but were frustrated by the constant focus on their phone. The solution? Bring the Nike Training Club app to the Apple Watch. “The resounding feedback from athletes worldwide was that they wanted us to put the best training app onto Apple Watch, and I think we’ve done it in a way that will make it an intuitive and invaluable training tool,” says Mike McCabe, Nike’s VP of Category Digital Product Innovation. Now users can start their workout on the phone and then the Apple Watch allows for easy check of time or reps remaining on a drill. It also delivers haptic prompts, which signal the beginning of the next drill and run until the workout is complete.
The Nike Training Club app will be available globally on the Apple Watch today. All 180+ workouts now available on the app will be supported by the Apple Watch. Download the app from itunes.
