If American preppiness is an exportable commodity then Tomorrowland is running a serious trade deficit. The Japanese retailer is not in the business of selling complicated fantasies. Instead, its eponymous label has a particular way with classics, tweaking them ever so slightly with a sophisticated color sense and approachable tailoring. The effect is more WASP than Japanese Modernist.
For Spring/Summer 2018 Tomorrowland turned out a range of separates in washed cotton, linen, lightweight wool and seasonal knits. There’s an abundance of cropped trousers, stripes and plaids. There are also a few punches of color including a cobalt blue shacket and pink t-shirt and cardigan twinset paired with army green cotton pants. The effect is both natty and casual.
