Nike is auctioning 100 pairs of NIKEiD Air Force1’s designed by famed sports journalist Craig Sager. The auctions will raise funds and awareness for the SagerStrong Foundation, which supports leukemia patients and their families in their fight against blood cancers. Craig Sager is known to a generation of NBA fans for informed sideline commentary and, most famously, for his brazen sartorial choices. Transcending taste, Sager’s personal style is so bad it’s good.
“Craig’s iconic style and passion for the game have made him a part of the culture of basketball in America,” says NIKEiD Global VP/GM Ken Dice. “We are honored that Craig and Stacy trusted us to help them tell their story through this product.”
NIKEiD in cooperation with TNT, Bleacher Report and Auction Cause will donate a portion of the proceeds from each auction to the SagerStrong Foundation. The auction will begin Tuesday, October 25 at 7pm EST on eBay.
The SagerStrong Foundation was created by the Sager family in 2014 when Craig was diagnosed with acute myleloid leukemia. The mission is simple, “give hope to those who need it most,” in order to make sure that families going through their own battle with leukemia have the help they need to get through the battle.
