NikeCourt is keeping its marketing department busy this spring. The tennis imprint designed two new collections specifically for The Championships, Wimbledon – the grandest of the grand slams. The NikeCourt London collection honors the tournament’s traditional all-white dress code without compromising technology and performance. Nick Kyrgios and other rising stars will wear looks for the Nike Team Collection both on and off the court while Roger Federer sports custom NikeCourt London collection pieces for matches and the new NikeLab x RF off-court collection when not competing for his eighth Wimbledon title.
The NikeLab x RF off-court collection reflects the subtle taste of the 17 time Grand Slam champion. The RF branding is kept to a minimum with functional reflective details, movement-conscious construction and elevated finishing adding some serious substance to Federer’s style.
“I’ve always had a lot of input into the RF logo. I always thought that it would be really cool to have something personal because, in tennis, we don’t really have the name on the back, like a soccer player, or a number that somebody can relate to. So I thought it would be nice to have something, such as your initials, that fans could wear and feel like they’re connecting to you.”
