IWC unveils a new limited edition timepiece to mark the start of the Volvo Ocean Race. The IWC Portuguese Yacht Club Chronograph Ocean Racer is perfectly suited to the unique sporting challenge and extreme conditions of the offshore sailing event. The eye-catching timepiece has one of the most modern and robust chronograph movements available with aggregate timing of up to 12 hours, shown by an analogue display with two hands in a sub-dial. The silver-plated dial features blued numerals, hands and indices with a Super-LumiNova coating for improved visibility. This special edition of the Portuguese Yacht Club Chronograph will be available in a limited edition of 1,000 pieces.
The Volvo Ocean Race starts on 4 October with an in-port race at Alicante in Spain. The crews then battle it out on four oceans taking them to five continents, before the reaching Gothenburg in Sweden in June 2015.
