As the tennis world turns its attention to New York for the final grand slam tournament of the season, Nike is set to launch a new tennis-inspired lifestyle line designed by Hiroshi Fujiwara of Fragment Design. Nike Court collection of apparel and footwear will deliver premium design, styling and materials that blend high performance innovation and a classic look. The line is fueled by the concept of future heritage; injecting class tennis silhouettes with innovation and attitude.
For the launch, Hiroshi Fujiwara designed a Nike Court Polo, Nike Court Herrington Jacket and Nike Court ½ Zip Jacket in a classic palette of stark white and navy blue. The Nike Court Polo updates a Tennis mainstay with ergonomic seams and construction that facilitates dynamic movement. The Nike Court Herrington Jacket, constructed from lightweight fabric with white zips, stitched detailing, and a mock neck, epitomizes the future heritage concept with a balanced mix of tradition and imagination. The Nike Court ½ Zip Jacket features a large center-pocket, white zip and Nike Court details as well as printed Fragment logo details on the sleeve and back.
First arriving in 1973, the tennis classic is fresh off a 41-year trip forward through time. Made popular by a rebellious court superstar who literally swore by them, the Nike Court Tennis Classic by Fragment fuses modern lifestyle with Nike heritage. Fujiwara is a lifelong tennis fan, and chose the Tennis Classic for its rich history and iconography. To update the style, the designer selected premium materials that underscore its cult street status.
