Nike Unveils 2014 Wimbledon Looks

Nike recently unveiled the new looks their tennis stars will be wearing for the 2014 Wimbledon Championships. The innovative apparel and footwear designs are a great example of form following function. Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Grigor Dimitrov, Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova and Victoria Azarenka will be outfitted in woven polyester Dri-FIT apparel that offers two-way stretch for a full range of motion and breathable performance for cool comfort with a soft, natural feel.

Reigning world number one Rafael Nadal will seek to extend his winning streak after a historic ninth men’s grand slam singles title in Paris. Nadal needs to win the Championships to maintain his ranking and firmly establish his grass court game. The Roland Garros champion will compete in London wearing the 2014 Premier Rafa Crew, redesigned Nike Premier Rafa Jacket, and the Nike Gladiator Premier 7-inch Shorts. World No.4 and 2012 Wimbledon champion Roger Federer will compete in this year’s tournament wearing the Nike Premier RF Polo, Nike Premier RF Cover-Up, Nike Gladiator Premier 9-inch Shorts and the Nike Zoom Vapor 9.5 Tour. Cut from Dri-FIT fabric that pulls perspiration away from the body, the RF Polo is ideal for warm-weather matches. The laser-perforated back and underarm panels provide maximum ventilation, and flatlock seams eliminate irritation to give the player every advantage.
