Is there such a thing as a smart watch for Luddites? British watchmaker Bremont introduces the first smart watch with mechanical movements. Bremont claims its hand-built A1 can do everything a digital smart watch can do, from mobile music to weather forecasts. The music player, such as it is, works on a scaled-down reel-to-reel tape system powered by the watch’s self-winding mechanism that hold three songs. No extended remixes please. Guys on the go can check the weather with a built-in barometer. With a twist of the crown a miniature clockwork ticker tape machine prints out the forecast. All these mod cons fit in slight five centimeter case. The analog smart watch, an idea whose time has come.
