Today, Nike unveiled the new home and away kits for the English National Football team. The new home kit (top) is an all-white ensemble with an engineered pinstripe in the fabric. The design complies with Fifa’s request for teams to wear one-color uniforms in an effort to help referees differentiate sides. Nike collaborated with renowned English typographer Neville Brody to create a new font for the names and numbers on the back of the jersey. The famous three lions crest, which appears on the front/chest and back, has a metallic weave that give the jerseys a distinctive shine.
The new England away jersey (above) features a bold red tonal pinstripe design subtly infused with a graphic interpretation of St. George’s cross on the front. The St. George’s cross, celebrates the team’s history and showcases the most evocative national symbols in an innovative new fashion. Both the home and away kits will be worn this summer in Brasil. The new home kit will debut on-pitch in the friendly game with Peru at Wembley on May 30.
The England home and away kits are available to pre-order on nike.com from March 31, and on sale in stores and nike.com worldwide from April 3.
