U.S. outerwear stalwart Spiewak is laying claim to its heritage. With the unveiling of the Spiewak Golden Fleece capsule collection at Pitti Uomo the company has been rebranded as Spiewak 1904. While the fashion for revival and repositioning of heritage brands has been the rocket fuel that powered much of the explosive growth in the menswear market, the provenance of some labels is ambiguous at best. Spiewak 1904 is bona fide. Founded in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (you could not make it up if you tried) in 1904, Spiewak started out selling sheep- skin vests for stevedores on the Brooklyn waterfront before becoming popular with generations of soldiers, police and first responders for its uniform outerwear.
Spiewak 1904’s global relaunch will be anchored by a new website and the Golden Fleece capsule collection completely Made in USA. See all the looks at spiewak1904.com.
