“People want to wear comfortable clothes” – Andy Spade.
Andy Spade is just giving the people what they want. His latest creative venture, Sleepy Jones, is a “not-quite-ready-to-wear” line of loungewear inspired by the contemplative and creative lifestyles of various artists, writers and tinkerers. Launched earlier this year the line is now available in a temporary pop-up store at The Hole Gallery on Bowery.
Spade and long-time creative partners Chad Buri and Anthony Sperduti have a proven knack for knowing what people want. The team worked together to develop both Kate Spade and Jack Spade before selling the highly successful ‘affordable luxury’ brands to the company formally known as Liz Claiborne. Using the winning formula of utility, style and attention to detail that won Jack Spade legions of fans; Sleepy Jones is both luxurious and attainable. With details like button cuffs and French seams and cut with premium fabrics from Italy, Japan and Liberty of London these PJ’s are as elegant as they are casual.
The Sleepy Jones Bowery pop-up store is open now through December 31, 2013. The store stocks the Sleepy Jones X Wes Lang Jasper Boxer, the first in their Artist Edition series, and features vignettes by landscape artist Satoshi Kawamoto of Green Fingers.
