Made In NYC: Williamsburg Garment Company

WGC_01

Williamsburg Garment Company is a new company with a long history. Founder Maurice Malone was one of the founding fathers of the urban clothing revolution in the early 1990’s. In the late 90’s Malone, a CFDA award nominee and acknowledged denim expert instrumental in the innovation of several finishing processes still used industry wide, launched a design consultancy putting his expertise to work for some of the most recognized brands and largest manufactures in the business. All of this expertise goes into every pair of WGC jeans.

The goal of Williamsburg Garment Company is to produce quality garments at attainable prices. There are no logos or patches on any of the pieces and no rear pocket stitching on the jeans. Branding is limited to an inconspicuous logo embossed on the waist band. The focus of this one man operation is quality not quantity.

The full WGC range is sold directly online with select style also available at Need Supply Co. and Opening Ceremony.

  1. Bought a pair a few weeks back and haven’t worn another pair since. I spent a couple of bones to have a tailor take them in on the thigh and leg but it was still a good deal. American made denim for less than 200 is not easy to find.

  2. Please know Sugarcube in Philadelphia stocks WGC as one of first three retailers to launch. We have one of the fist Q&As with Maurice on our journal. Traveling to Philadelphia… stop in, say hello. http://sugarcube.us/
