Now in its second season, The Portland Collection from Pendleton Woolen Mills, draws on patterns and designs from the archives of the Oregon-based company. The heritage-influenced collection uses fabrics woven exclusively in Pendleton’s Northwest Mills and all of the apparel is produced in the U.S.A. For Fall 2012 The Portland Collection’s design team created exclusive fabrics inspired by the square designs of the late 1800s and early 1900s. “These designs predate looms that were able to create angular motifs, such as arrows, giving these new blankets and fabrics an excitingly innovative feel.”
The Painted Hills Archive Coat was inspired by these early designs. The limited edition virgin wool coat features an exclusive painted hills Indian blanket pattern and removable shearling collar.
