Margaret Howell is a fashion designer who doesn’t follow fashion. Her shows are not spectacles. Her clothes are not groundbreaking. Her style, consistent and slow to evolve, is a meditation in an industry famous for flash. Howell’s understated Fall/Winter 2013 show was filled with modern menswear classics with a mix of slim and relaxed silhouettes in slate, charcoal, olive and blues.
Howell said the collection focused “on Harris tweed, serge and covert cloths and is defined by a slimmer silhouette and a shorter coat length. Scottish cashmere, hand-knits and argyles add texture and colour interest.”
