Tommy Hilfiger has paid an undisclosed amount to sponsor the Golf Club at Chelsea Piers through the end of 2013. The sponsorship is the latest step in the reintroduction of the Hilfiger Golf collection. Tommy Hilfiger originally launched men’s golf wear in 1994, followed by a women’s collection six years later. From 2007 until last year the golf collection was only available in Europe. In July 2011 Hilfiger relaunched the golf collection in a licensing deal with Fletcher Leisure Group.
The sponsorship agreement with Chelsea Piers includes advertising and apparel. Hilfiger Golf ads will appear throughout the Golf Club at Chelsea Piers and on the West Side Highway facade. The Golf Club pro’s and staff will also be outfitted in Hilfiger Golf apparel.
