The father son design duo behind Casely-Hayford continue to explore their interest in the heritage of British tailoring with their Autumn Winter 2012 Collection, titled Cultures in Between. In 2009 Joe Casely-Hayford teamed up with his son Charlie to launch Casely-Hayford. Their goal is to combine “English heritage with British anarchy” using Savile Row tailoring to create modern sportswear.
Joe Casely-Hayford OBE has been a fixture on the British fashion scene since the 1980’s. He was the first designer to collaborate with Topshop, he has dressed U2 and The Clash and was the creative director of Gieves & Hawke. Charlie Casely-Hayford grew up in the fashion industry. By the age of 17 he was working with i-D magazine and documenting London style for several Japanese magazines before he started styling UK bands and modeling. Charlie is currently signed to Premier Model Management.
As a brand, Casely-Hayford is a combination of seemingly disparate influences, Father and son, military and afropunk, Savile Row and rock star. But it is this combination of generations and influences that gives them the ability to produce definitive future classics. Innovation through tradition.
