Uniqlo announced today that Novak Djokovic, the world’s number one tennis player, will be its new global brand ambassador. Under the five-year contract Djokovic, who has been under contract with Italian brand Sergoi Tacchini, will wear Uniqlo clothes on and off the court. The contract includes a soon-to-be released casual sportswear line being developed with former Issey Miyake designer Naoki Takizawa. Fast Retailing, the parent company of Uniqlo, will carry the Novak Djokovic line in its stores worldwide. Djokovic will debut his newly designed Uniqlo match wear at this year’s French Open on May 27 at Roland-Garros in Paris.
