Jaeger-LeCoultre’s new model, the Deep Sea Chronograph, is an elegant timepiece focused on safety. This model was created for serious divers with an operating indicator that enables divers to check at a glance that the chronograph is functioning as it should. The feature was inspired by the Jaeger-LeCoultre Chronoflight, a military timepiece used by the US Navy and Air Corps before WWII and know for its accuracy. The round aperture that reveals the chronograph operating indicator was inspired by the a technical device featured in the Chronoflight. The red and white discs in the indicator let divers know the state of the chronograph with a quick glance without any risk of error.
If you are a diver this is a great safety feature. If you are not a diver then this probably doesn’t mean much except that you can wear this watch in the pool, at the beach and in the shower. And it looks great.
