JC Penney just got serious about its overhaul. Nick Wooster, the former men’s fashion director of Neiman Marcus Group, has joined mass-market retailer JC Penney as men’s creative director. Wooster left his position with Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman last year after an interview in the May issue of GQ magazine caused friction with his former employer. Since leaving Neiman Wooster has launched a swimwear collaboration with Orlebar Brown and consulted with Gilt Group and Thom Browne.
Sources noted that JC Penney CEO Ron Johnson is taking a bit of a chance on Wooster. While some insiders fret over Wooster’s lack of experience in middlebrow togs, suppliers griped that Johnson still hasn’t replaced the four top execs he recently fired in its men’s department. Those execs made financial decisions — something Wooster isn’t expected to be doing. “Where does the buck stop? Who writes the checks?” one supplier groused. “It’s not the creative director.” From The NY Post

You created some decent points here. I looked on the internet but their stuff looks the same so far.
Nick Wooster. What’s not to like?
